EXTENDED OPENING HOURS The surgery will now be open on Wednesday evenings and Saturday mornings for pre-booked non emergency appointments only. Please contact reception to book an appointment.
MAY BANK HOLIDAY The surgery will be closed on Monday 26th May. All other week days we will be open normal surgery hours.
Car Parking This is very limited at the surgery. Please use alternative methods of transport or park elsewhere if at all possible.
Appointments In recent weeks we have had numerous appointments made where patients have cancelled very late or not turned up, in particular for the nurses, which has meant we have been unable to allocate the time to another patient. If you need to cancel an appointment, please let the surgery know in plenty of time so the appointment can be given to another patient.
Pneumococcal vaccine If you are approaching your 65th birthday or are already 65, you are eligible for the pnueumococcal vaccine which protects against 23 strains of pneumonia found in the community. This is a one off injection and is available all year round
Dr.Chidi Ejim has joined the practice for a few months. He will be taking surgery on Wednesday evenings ,Thursday and Friday mornings.
PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP The details of the next meeting to be held in the health centre will be advised once a date has been agreed. If you are interested in being a member please let reception know you would like to attend the next meeting.
Suggestion boxes are now in the waiting areas and you are welcome to place your comments in the boxes. The patient participation group will empty the boxes and discuss any comments/concerns at the next meeting.
Holidays abroad? Don't forget your holiday vaccinations. Please give us as much notice as possible when you book your appointment.
MMR UPDATE Aged between 16 - 25 years? you need to have had two doses of the Measles, Mumps and Rubella (MMR)immunisation to ensure full protection against mumps. Vaccine is now available . Please book your appointment now.
Are you a carer? We are recording a list of carers in our practice. Please contact reception so we can send you a letter which will enable us to include you in our records. This will help us to keep you updated with any relevant information.
Phone system. When a call to the surgery is answered you will be told that you have reached Dr. Jones & Partners and then you will be given the option to speak to reception or choose a more suitable extension for your enquiry. In response to feedback from our patient surveys this was introduced to increase the efficiency of the phone system.Please let us know if you have any comments or feed back on the system
All baby immunisations are now done by the nurse, please book your child in.
Prescriptions Please remember to allow 48 hours between dropping off a repeat prescription and collection,i.e. a prescription left on Monday will be ready on Wednesday. There has been a large rise in patients requesting urgent prescriptions for the same day which is causing delays to others. Please try to plan ahead so your prescription does not become urgent. If you have difficulties bringing in or collecting your repeat prescription at the surgery please post to us including a stamped addresssed envelope and we will post back to you as soon as possible.
Please ensure you leave time for car parking and booking in. This will help to ensure that the Doctor's and Nurse appointments run to time.
